ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell women's swim and dive returns to the water this weekend to kick off the 2022-23 slate. The Big Red first travel to Binghamton on Friday, November 4 to begin this season's slate, followed immediately by a trip to St. Bonaventure on Saturday, November 5.

A Look Backwards:
Cornell is coming off an undefeated head-to-head nonconference season in 2021-22, but the Big Red dropped six Ivy meets on the year to finish seventh overall in the regular season. The Big Red placed eighth overall at the Ivy championships. Individual success was in no shortage though, as Cornell tallied 27 all-time top-10 times in Cornell swimming history and a NCAA Zone A top-30 diving finish.

Familiar Faces:
One half of the Cornell 2022 NCAA Zone A Diving duo returns for her senior season.
Elise Jendritz finished last season at 29th in Zone A. Jendritz holds the second-best score in the 1-Meter dive in Cornell history at 261.55.
Senior
Melissa Parker also returns to the mix, after notching four separate top-10 times in Cornell history, in addition to being a part of all five-relay all-time top-10 Cornell times from the 2021-22 season.

At the Helm:
Patrick Gallagher enters his seventh season as Head Coach of Women's Swimming on Friday. Gallagher has coached 127 individual and 38 relay times that rank in the top-10 all-time at Cornell, including 12 individual and four relay school records.

Gallagher added 10 freshmen ahead of the new season in

Lexie Vanderloo, and
Victoria Zhang to total 17 underclassmen.

The Series vs. Binghamton:
Cornell holds a perfect 16-0 record over the Bearcats dating back to the 1999-2000 season. In the most recent meeting (1/30/2022), Cornell won 145-93, including finishers at the top of the podium in 11 of 13 events. Returners

The Series vs. St. Bonaventure:
Cornell 6-3 over the Bonnies, dating back to the first meeting in the 1996-77 season. The Big Red tallied a 144-92 win in the season opener last year. The win marked the fifth-straight win over St. Bonaventure. Cornell stood atop the podium in seven different events at the meet.
