Big Red Rewind:
•  Cornell shifts gears after a 5-0 loss to Penn State on Tuesday wrapped up the non-league portion of its regular season. The Big Red outshot the visitors in the first period, but still found itself in a three-goal hole after 20 minutes. The Nittany Lions clamped down from there, holding Cornell to just 16 shots on goal for the game.
•  In its last league action, Cornell delivered an exhilarating 3-2 victory over Colgate on Sunday for its third victory against a ranked team this season. With her third goal over a six-game span, freshman blueliner
Rory Guilday scored the winner with 9:24 left.
•
Gillis Frechette factored into all of the Big Red's goals, scoring once while adding a pair of assists. The Big Red's leading scorer had nine points over last week's three games, and she's now factored into 16 of the team's last 19 goals.
•
Lindsay Browning made 34 saves and survived a frenetic finish that featured nearly four minutes of six-on-five time with Colgate's goaltender pulled late in the game.
•  Cornell was even with Harvard, the ECAC Hockey and Ivy League leaders, through 47 minutes of Saturday's game before the Crimson pulled away for a 6-3 victory at Lynah.
•  Guilday and
Lily Delianedis each had a goal and assist for the Big Red with their goals book-ending the second intermission to help the Big Red erase a two-goal deficit.
•  Special teams proved to be the difference in the game against Harvard.
Kaitlin Jockims had Cornell's first goal on the power play, but Harvard's power play went 3-for-7.

Postseason Watch:
•  Cornell sits in seventh place in the ECAC Hockey standings and can clinch a berth in the quarterfinals as soon as Friday, if it can secure a regulation-time victory over Rensselaer.
By The Numbers:

•  Junior forward
Gillis Frechette (#11, 11-21–32, plus-18), who was named the ECAC Hockey Driscoll Skating and Skills Player of the Week on Monday, continues to lead the team in scoring. Half of her season point total has coming over just the last nine games, and she enters Friday ranked 19th nationally with an average of 1.39 points per game.
•  Sophomore forward
Lily Delianedis (#21, 11-10–21) is tied with Frechette for the team's goal-scoring lead. She was recently named the ECAC Hockey and national rookie of the month after posting eight points over the Big Red's seven games in January.
•  Junior
Izzy Daniel (#12, 6-21–27, plus-18), tied with Frechette for the team lead in assists, typically plays on a line with Delianedis and Frechette.
•  Freshman
Rory Guilday (#5, 6-8–14) continues to lead the team's blueliners in scoring. She typically plays alongside sophomore
Ashley Messier (#8, 2-7–9, team-high 62 blocked shots), giving the Big Red a defensive pairing that features international experience from both the U.S. and Canada.
•  Graduate student
Lindsay Browning (#29, 9-9-2, 2.06, .927, 6 SO) — who, in 2020, became the program's first goaltender to earn All-America honors — is the first goaltender to serve as the team's sole captain. Browning's six shutouts are third nationally and most among ECAC Hockey goaltenders.
Big Red In Beijing:
•  Cornell has four women's hockey alumnae currently competing for Team Canada at the Beijing Games. Forwards Brianne Jenner '15 had a hat trick in Tuesday's win over the U.S. and is tied for second in team scoring with eight points over the first four games. Fellow forwards Rebecca Johnston '12 (six points) and Jillian Saulnier '15, and defenseman Micah Zandee-Hart '20 (two points) have also played in of the pool-play games.
•  Lenka Serdar '19 has also played all four games for the Czech Republic, helping the team reach the quarterfinals in its first-ever appearance in the Olympics.
•
Doug Derraugh '91, the Everett Family Head Coach of Women's Hockey at Cornell, is serving as an assistant coach with Team Canada. With Derraugh currently in China, Associate Head Coach
Edith Racine is Cornell's acting head coach.
The 300 Club:
•  Derraugh earned his 305th win Sunday against Colgate — though he was not on the bench. With Derraugh having departed the Big Red temporarily to coach in the Olympics, Associate Head Coach
Edith Racine will continue as Cornell's acting head coach.
About Rensselaer:
•  The Engineers have lost a pair of games since a 2-0 shutout over Union in the Mayor's Cup game on Jan. 29. A 3-2 overtime loss to Princeton on Feb. 1 followed, then a 3-0 setback against Yale on Friday.
•  Marah Wagner (#29, 10-10–22) leads the team in scoring, drawing the primary assist on both of RPI's goal against Cornell in a game earlier this year. Those were scored by Lauren Severson (#17, 5-7–12), who ranks second in the team scoring, and Julia Blitz (#21, 4-6–10).
•  Audrey McCutcheon (#12, 7-4–11) ranks second in goal-scoring on the team. Lilli Friis-Hansen (#27, 0-6–6), who played with Denmark before it was recently eliminated from the Olympic tournament, has a team-best plus-9 rating.
•  Junior Amanda Rampado (#31, 8-18, 2.24, .932, 3 SO) has played all but one of the team's games in goal. She made 31 saves in the loss to Cornell earlier this year.
The Series With Rensselaer:

Ashley Messier providing the other tallies.

About Union:
•  The Dutchwomen enter Friday's game at Colgate on a 10-game losing streak, though they put a scare into league-leading Yale on Tuesday. Union scored the first two goals and carried the lead into the final 10 minutes before the Bulldogs rallied to win, 3-2.
•  Senior co-captain forward Grace Heiting (#4, 8-5–13) leads the team in scoring, often playing on the same line as the next-leading scorer, Celeste Beaudoin (#25, 3-9–12).
•  Olivia Rinzel (#35, 2-15-1, 4.02, .876) is the team's primary goaltender, having made 30 saves in the 3-0 loss to Cornell earlier this season. Sophie Matsoukas (#31, 2-8, 3.78, .888, SO) has also started nine games in goal.
