Big Red Rewind:
• Kalty Kaltounkova scored a pair of power-play goals for Colgate on Tuesday to power the Raiders' home victory against Cornell, 3-2. The loss eliminated Cornell from contention for top-four placement in the ECAC Hockey standings, meaning the Big Red knows it will now be on the road for a best-of-three quarterfinal series Feb. 25-27.
• Special teams proved to be the difference against Colgate, with the hosts going 2-for-6 on the power play and Cornell posting a 1-for-7 effort.
• That one five-on-four goal came off the skate of
Kaitlin Jockims to pull the Big Red to within one in the third period. Of Jockims' 11 points this season, seven have come in just the last nine games.
•
Leah MacSween opened the scoring for Cornell just seconds after a power play ended in the game's seventh minute. It was MacSween's first collegiate goal.
• The loss came on the heels of a six-game home stand over a stretch of 12 days, which was punctuated by a sweep last weekend. The Big Red topped Rensselaer, 4-2, on Friday before securing a 5-3 win against Union the next day.
• The game against the Dutchwomen also served as the Big Red's Senior Day, with the team's elder stateswomen taking center stage.
Athena Song opened the scoring added later added an assist, and
Bella Kang's first assist of the season was the shot that Burke tipped in during the third.
By The Numbers:
• With assists on both of Cornell's goals on Tuesday, junior forward
Gillis Frechette (#11, 12-26–34, plus-21) continues to lead the team in scoring. She has 20 points over just the last 10 games, and she enters the weekend ranked 13th nationally with an average of 1.46 points per game.
• Sophomore forward
Lily Delianedis (#21, 12-13–25) is tied with Frechette for the team's goal-scoring lead. She was named the ECAC Hockey and national rookie of the month after posting eight points over the Big Red's seven games in January. Her average of 0.96 points per game ranks fourth nationally among skaters making their collegiate debuts this season.
• Junior
Izzy Daniel (#12, 8-22–30), tied with Frechette for the team lead in rating at plus-21, typically plays on a line with Delianedis and Frechette. Daniel scored twice Saturday against Union, then had a primary assist on Tuesday's second Cornell goal.
• Freshman
Rory Guilday (#5, 7-9–16) continues to lead the team's blueliners in scoring. She typically plays alongside sophomore
Ashley Messier (#8, 3-7–10, team-high 65 blocked shots), giving the Big Red a defensive pairing that features international experience from both the U.S. and Canada.
• Graduate student
Lindsay Browning (#29, 11-10-2, 2.14, .922, 6 SO) — who, in 2020, became the program's first goaltender to earn All-America honors — is the first goaltender to serve as the team's sole captain. Browning's six shutouts are third nationally and most among ECAC Hockey goaltenders.
Big Red In Beijing:
• Cornell has four women's hockey alumna currently competing for Team Canada, which will compete in the goal medal game against the United States on Thursday at the Beijing Games.
• Forward Brianne Jenner '15 leads all skaters at the tournament with nine goals. She also has four assists for 13 points and a plus-13 rating over six games.
• Fellow forwards Rebecca Johnston '12 (10 points) and Jill Saulnier '15 (two points), and defenseman Micah Zandee-Hart '20 (four points) have also played in all six games.
• Forward Lenka Serdar '19 competed with Czech Republic, which advanced as far as the quarterfinals in its first-ever appearance in the Olympics.
•
Doug Derraugh '91, the Everett Family Head Coach of Women's Hockey at Cornell, is serving as an assistant coach with Team Canada. With Derraugh currently in China, Associate Head Coach
Edith Racine is Cornell's acting head coach.
About St. Lawrence:
• The Saints have proven to be streaky this season, having posted a 3-1-2 record since a 4-0 loss to Cornell on Feb. 1. Most recently, St. Lawrence mustered just a 1-1 tie Friday at Brown before a 3-1 loss to Yale on Saturday. The three-game road trip ended with Brittany Gout scoring her second goal of Monday's game with 9:22 left in the third period to help SLU earn a 3-3 tie at Harvard.
• Abby Hustler (#74, 11-13–24, plus-13) leads the team in scoring, rating and shots on goal (105). She's recently taken the lead in goals away from Aly McLeod (#24, 9-11–20), whose three power-play goals are tied for most on the squad with Nara Elia (#27, 8-10–18), Shailynn Snow (#54, 6-9–15) and Kristen Guerriero (#26, 4-6–10).
• Lucy Morgan (#32, 12-11-7, 1.60, .945, 5 SO) has started 30 of the team's 32 games in goal. Goaltender Grace Smith (#1, no appearances) hails from Ithaca.
The Series With St. Lawrence:
• Cornell is undefeated in its last 11 meetings with St. Lawrence (9-0-2) dating back to Jan. 21, 2017. That includes a 4-0 victory on Feb. 1 in which

Lindsay Browning posted a 29-save shutout.
• The Big Red now leads the all-time series with the Saints, 43-34-8.
About Clarkson:
• The Golden Knights bounced back from a 3-1 loss Friday at Yale with an 8-1 rout the next night at Brown. While Clarkson is nationally ranked with a record of 22-7-3 overall, it is a mundane 5-5 over its last 10 games.
• Caitrin Lonergan (#11, 17-29–46) leads the team in scoring and ranks 12th nationally in points per game (1.48). She typically centers a line flanked by Gabrielle David (#8, 18-19–37, plus-26), who leads the team in goals and ranks 10th nationally in power-play goals (5), and Brooke McQuigge (#26, 16-13–29, plus-19).
• Michelle Pasiechnyk (#1, 20-5-3, 1.57, .934, 3 SO) is the team's primary goaltender — ranking 10th nationally in goals against average — though she did not compete against Cornell earlier this season.
The Series With Clarkson:
• The Big Red won the season's first meeting between the teams, 4-0, on Jan. 25 in Ithaca. The line of
Izzy Daniel,
Lily Delianedis and
