ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell women's tennis team hits the road for its second dual match of the season, taking on James Madison at 10 a.m. Sunday in Harrisonburg, Va.
Cornell is coming off a 6-1 loss to Syracuse last Sunday, when
Jenny Wong generated the Big Red's lone point with a three-set victory at #6 singles. The Dukes enter a match against visiting Penn State on Saturday with a 1-2 record created by a season-opening 7-0 sweep of Georgetown on Jan. 23 before setbacks against #9 Virginia and Arkansas last weekend in the Charlottesville pod of the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
It's the second straight Cornell season in which it will visit James Madison, with the Dukes having won a Feb. 24, 2020 match by a score of 4-1 to conclude a three-game Winter Break road trip for the Big Red. Junior Fatima El Ashrak accounted for Cornell's point that day, winning a #2 singles match. The only other time the programs had met in spring play was in 1984.
Live stats of the match will be available through the host school's website.
