ITHACA, N.Y. – In its first time back in the arena since early December, the Cornell women's polo team (7-6) made easy work of the Central New York Polo Club, cruising to a 21-5 victory on Friday night at the Oxley Equestrian Center.

The Big Red was led in the win by Sophia Neis, who scored a game- and season-high seven points for Cornell, single-handedly accounting for a third of the Big Red's points. Neis was one of three Cornell student-athletes to score a two-point goal against the Central New York Polo Club, with Rachel Booth and Jasmine Umrigar accomplishing the feat as well.

Cornell's scoring in the contest was balanced, as every person who suited up for the Big Red scored at least three points. Umrigar finished the game with four goals for five points, Lea Jih-Vieira and Sophie Kofsky scored three goals apiece, and Booth notched a pair of goals for three points. Kofsky's three goals matched a season-high.

The Big Red took off at the beginning of the contest and never looked back, outscoring the Central New York Polo Club 7-2 in the first chukker and riding on to the convincing 21-5 victory. With the win, Cornell secured consecutive victories for the first time since mid-October when the Big Red defeated White Winter Farm on Oct. 15 and Colorado State on Oct. 20.
