ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell women's divers Elise Jendritz and Demetra Williams have qualified for the 2022 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships beginning on Monday, March 7 at noon. The three-day event will take place at Navy's Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Md.

The top five finishers in the 1- and 3-meter competitions, as well as the platform, will advance to the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Ga. from March 23-26. The Big Red divers are among 77 entries in the 1-meter, and among 61 entries in the 3-meter.

Both Jendritz and Williams scored for the Big Red at the Ivy League Championships in both diving events, making the A final in the 3-meter. Williams took a strong fifth with 281.30 points, good for No. 3 all-time at Cornell. Jendritz placed one spot behind Williams in sixth with 276.10 points, but holds the school record with a 306.05 at the 2020 Ivy League meet.

In the 1-meter, Jendritz (11th) and Williams (14th) flipped their 3-meter team finish. Jendritz posted a 261.55 score, the second-best mark in school history. Williams hit for a 245.40 at the meet, but her 266.50 at the 2020 Ivy Championships is the top score in Cornell history.

Both divers have already met the NCAA B cut score in both events, so if either qualifies for nationals in one event, they'll be eligible to compete in the other.
