ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Junior Elise Jendritz and senior Demetra Williams closed out the 2022 NCAA Zone A Championship on Tuesday afternoon at Navy's Lejeune Hall. Both finished up strong in a meet against the top divers in the region, putting together four series that ranked among the top 50 competitors.

In Monday's 1-meter dive, Jendritz placed 29th out of the 79 top competitors in the zone with her score of 246.75 for six dives. Her fourth dive of the competition, an inward 1 1/2 somersault pike earned her a 45.60, good for 16th in the round. She had two rounds where she finished in the top 20. Williams finished 50th with her score of 223.75, as her forward 1 1/2 somersault two twist free dive gave her a 42.90, good for 22nd in the third round.

Jendritz narrowly missed Tuesday's 3-meter final, placing 20th with a 258.70. The top 18 in each event made finals. The junior had two of her six dives score 50.40. Williams finished 42nd in the event with a 232.70, with her final dive of the six the highest scoring effort (45.90). The Big Red senior closed her career as a three-time Zone A qualifier.
