ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's tennis team honored its seniors, then closed out a victory in style as the Big Red toppled Brown 4-2 on Sunday afternoon at Reis Tennis Center. The Big Red now has more Ivy League wins (three) than the 2019-20 team had overall victories (two) as Cornell improved to 8-10 (3-2 Ivy). The Bears fell to 6-14 (0-5 Ivy).

The Big Red earned a win at No. 1 doubles, but the Bears stole the point with triumphs at the other two slots, including the rubber match at No. 2 in tiebreakers to allow Brown to go up 1-0.

Cornell ran through singles, winning four of five completed matches despite not having No. 1 Lan Mi in the lineup. Lauren Stein clinched with win at No. 2 with a three-set victory over Sophia Reddy, including 6-4 in the third. Valerie Ho also won in three sets after posting a bagel in the first, while the other Cornell wins came in straight sets from Jenny Wong and Alexandra Savu each losing just four games in picking up victories.

Cornell closes out the 2021-22 season when it welcomes Princeton on Friday, April 22 at 2 p.m. at Reis Tennis Center before heading to Penn for a dual match on Sunday, April 24 at 1 p.m.
