PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The 63rd-ranked Penn Quakers closed out the 2021-22 Cornell women's tennis season with a 4-0 sweep of the Big Red on Sunday afternoon at the Hecht Tennis Centers. Penn improved to 15-9 (5-2 Ivy), while the Big Red closed its campaign at 8-12 (3-4 Ivy). The eight wins matched the previous two seasons' total, while its three conference wins tripled the total for Cornell since 2018.
Penn grabbed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3, then earned straight sets victories at No. 1, 4 and 6 in singles.
Lauren Stein, at No. 2, was headed to a third set at No. 2 against Sabine Tutlauka after a 6-2 triumph in the second before the match was ended.
