ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's tennis team earned unanimous first-team All-Ivy honors in both singles and doubles play when the conference teams were announced on Thursday afternoon by the league office. Freshman
Lan Mi captured first-team singles accolades, while sophomores
Lauren Stein and
Jenny Wong represented the Big Red on the first-team for doubles.
Mi closed her rookie season with a team-best 23-9 record while playing exclusively out of the No. 1 slot, going 12-4 in dual meet play and 3-2 vs. Ivy opponents. She advanced to the ITA Super Regional after posting a perfect 3-0 mark at the Northeast Regional Championship in the fall, advancing to the round of 16. She also posted nine doubles wins for first-year head coach
Katie Zordani. Mi was one of four unanimous singles selections.
The No. 1 doubles squad of Stein and Wong was 7-5 together, including 6-3 at the top spot in duals and 4-2 against Ivy League opponents. The duo was among the three squads that were unanimous picks to the top team. Additionally, Wong was named to the Academic All-Ivy League team for her performance in the classroom.
The Big Red went 8-12 on the season, including 3-4 in Ivy play. The win total was its best since 2017 (15-6), while its three league wins were triple Cornell's total from 2018-21 (1-13).
