Sailing Finalizes Prep For Championship Season With Two Connecticut Regattas

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team will have its final tuneup for the MAISA Spring Women's Regatta when the Big Red sends student-athletes to the Camel Women's Team Race and the Emily Wick Fleet Race. The two-day regattas, both held in New London, Conn., will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 9-10.

The Big Red last competed for the Emily Wick Trophy in 2015, taking sixth in an 18-team field. It will be the first appearance for Cornell in the Camel Women's Team Race.

Cornell will await word on Tuesday about a possible at-large bid to Team Race Nationals after finishing second at last weekend's MAISA Women's Team Race. The Big Red tied for first with an 11-3 record along with Georgetown, but the Hoyas won a sailoff for the automatic bid to nationals.
