ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team will head to New Orleans with eyes on its first national title when it competes in the ICSA Women's Team Race Nationals beginning on Sunday, April 26. A group of competitors will also sail at Kings Point in the Admiral's Cup beginning on Saturday, April 25. Both events will be held over two days.
Cornell finished fourth at Team Race Nationals a year ago, reaching the final four for the first time and taking a best-ever third place in the final Ivy standings. This is the Big Red's fifth appearance at team race nationals and fourth consecutive. Competition begins at 10 a.m. CT each day out of the Southern Yacht Club with the races taking place on Lake Pontchartrain.
The Big Red will be among 15 teams competing for the Admiral's Cup at Kings Point beginning on Saturday. The two-day event will be held in two divisions with a total of 14 races scheduled for each. Cornell took 14th at the event last season.
