Five former and current Cornell women's ice hockey players are getting ready for the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championships in Frederikshavn and Herning, Denmark.
Former Big Red players Micah Zandee-Hart '20, Kristin O'Neill '20 and Brianne Jenner '13 will be suiting up for Team Canada, and Sarah Knee '18 will be representing Team Hungary. Cornell sophomore defenseman
Rory Guilday is the lone active Big Red player at the World Championships, playing for Team USA.
The Americans open play in Group A of the Preliminary Round on Thursday at 9 a.m. ET against Team Japan, while the Hungarians will start at 9:30 a.m. against Team Germany. The Big Red's trio of Canadians begin play at 1 p.m. on Thursday against Team Finland.

Zandee-Hart is making her second appearance at the World Championships after winning a gold medal with the Canadian National Team at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. The left-shot defenseman logged a pair of assists over seven games for Team Canada at the 2019 World Championships.
O'Neill is also making her second appearance at the World Championships for Team Canada. In last year's tournament – which the Canadians won on its home soil – O'Neill appeared in three contests but did not register a point.
Jenner is representing Canada at the World Championships for the eighth time in her career. After finishing third in scoring at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, Jenner is hoping to aid Canada to its 12th World Championship title and earn consecutive championships for the first time since winning the first eight titles during a span between 1990 and 2004.
Knee is playing in her second consecutive World Championships for Team Hungary. She aided the Hungarians to its first-ever victory at the World Championships last year.
Guilday is making her debut at the World Championships for Team USA. It will her second time donning a Team USA sweater, as the 6-foot defenseman scored a goal in five games at the 2020 Under-18 World Junior Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia.
