ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell women's polo team kicks off the home slate of the spring season when it hosts Texas A&M in Oxley Equestrian Center on Saturday, February 4 at 6 p.m.
The Big Red opened the spring with a 29-8 victory at Gardnertown Polo, but the game would go down as a scrimmage due to Gardnertown not having enough players to field. Cornell has posted a strong season so far, going 9-3 on the calendar, including a second place finish at the Bill Field Invitational.
Cornell Polo senior,
Lea Jih-Vieira, is returning to action this weekend after a very successful ride with the national team. She is coming off a 12-11 comeback victory over the All-England Polo Club to win the SUPA International Cup.
Cornell has squared off against Texas A&M 13 times since 1994, with the all-time record leaning in favor of the Big Red, 9-4. Cornell won the last contest 9-6, which came in the 2019-20 season in a neutral site contest in Charlottesville, Va.
