ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell women's tennis freshmen
Michelle Ryndin,
Victoria Zhao, and junior
Jenny Wong, are set to compete in the 2023 ITA Super Regionals. The tournament is set to kick off in West Point, N.Y. beginning on Friday, October 20, with first matches set for 10:00 a.m.
In singles, Zhao's first match is set for October 20th at 10:00 a.m. against Jackeline Lopez of Rutgers. Zhao advanced to Super Regionals after defeating each of her opponents in straight sets at the ITA Regionals. Ryndin will face Danielle Hack of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst at 11:30 a.m. Ryndin survived two three-set matches in her ITA Regional trip to advance to the Super Regionals.
Zhao will also team up with Wong as the duo represents Cornell in the doubles bracket after defeating each set of opponents 8-3 in the regionals. The duo first takes the court on Saturday, October 21 at 1:00 p.m. when the pair faces Maiko Uchijima and Samantha Nanere of Temple.
The Big Red has one more fall meet before team competition ramps up next spring. Cornell will travel to Toledo, Ohio to wrap up the fall season at the Toledo Hidden Duals on Friday, October 27-28.
