ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell football team's Friday evening game at Harvard will now be televised on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. at Harvard Stadium. The contest will serve as the Big Red's first-ever appearance on ESPN2.
Originally slated for an appearance on ESPNU, the change was made due to the evolving Major League Baseball Playoff schedule. All four of the best-of-three Wild Card series ended in two games, opening up the window for the Ivy League's Game of the Week.
The Big Red and the 19th-ranked Crimson are both 1-0 in Ivy League competition entering the contest, with Cornell eyeing its first 2-0 start to conference play since 2000.
Cornell has played contests on ESPNU in each of its past four seasons, twice against ranked opponents, but will be on one of the two primary ESPN channels for the first time since 1990 when it defeated Brown 34-7 on ESPN.
The Big Red is 3-5 all-time on the ESPN family of linear networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU). Cornell football's last win on national television came in a 29-28 thriller at Princeton on Oct. 28, 2017 on NBC Sports Network.
