SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- After losing 29-1 to the Maryland Polo Club on Friday, the Cornell women's polo team responded with an 18-1 win over Skidmore College on Sunday afternoon. It was the Big Red's second victory over Skidmore this season.

Junior Ava Ramachandran led the Big Red and set a career-high with eight goals. Junior Isabelle Braden had four, while seniors Charlotte Book and Samantha Symons had two each.

"I'm really happy how our women responded after a really tough loss to Maryland on Friday night," Anthony Condo, the Peter B. Orthwein '68 Head Coach of Polo, said. "They're getting better by the game as we progress throughout this Fall season.  As I said before, we knew this would be a challenging year as we rebuild from massive losses due to graduation last spring, but this team has loads of grit and works so hard to get better every time out. Thrilled they could bring home the W today against our regional rival Skidmore."

The Big Red's 18 points were a season-high, and Skidmore's one goal was the fewest an opponent has scored against Cornell this season. It took Skidmore until the fourth chukker to get on the board.
