Darmouth Posts Victory Over Women's Tennis

HANOVER, N.H. — The Cornell women's tennis team fell to Dartmouth, 4-1, at the ECAC Indoor Championships at the Boss Tennis Center on Saturday morning.

Sophomore Lan Mi was the lone Big Red player to register a victory in the match, defeating Dartmouth's Chidimma Okpara, 6-1, 6-2, in the No. 1 singles match.

Dartmouth opened the match with the first point, posting 6-2 and 6-3 victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches.

The Big Green increased its lead to 3-0 behind a 6-0, 6-2 victory by Ujvala Jupalli over senior Fatima El Ashram.

Mi cut into Dartmouth's lead with her straight-set victory, but the Big Green's victory was solidified with wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches.

Freshman Emma Baker and junior Lauren Stein had their matches go unfinished with the result already determined. Baker had a 2-0 lead in the third set, while Stein was trailing in the second time at the time the matches were halted.
