HANOVER, N.H. — The Cornell women's tennis team fell to Dartmouth, 4-1, at the ECAC Indoor Championships at the Boss Tennis Center on Saturday morning.
Sophomore
Lan Mi was the lone Big Red player to register a victory in the match, defeating Dartmouth's Chidimma Okpara, 6-1, 6-2, in the No. 1 singles match.
Dartmouth opened the match with the first point, posting 6-2 and 6-3 victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches.
The Big Green increased its lead to 3-0 behind a 6-0, 6-2 victory by Ujvala Jupalli over senior
Fatima El Ashram.
Mi cut into Dartmouth's lead with her straight-set victory, but the Big Green's victory was solidified with wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches.
Freshman
Emma Baker and junior
Lauren Stein had their matches go unfinished with the result already determined. Baker had a 2-0 lead in the third set, while Stein was trailing in the second time at the time the matches were halted.
Looking Ahead
Cornell will play the loser of the match between Yale and Penn on Sunday at 8 a.m. at the Boss Tennis Center to conclude the ECAC Indoor Championships.
