ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's polo team hosts the Central New York Polo Club this coming Friday, February 10, at 7 p.m.
The Big Red opened the spring with a 29-8 victory at Gardnertown Polo, but the game would go down as a scrimmage due to Gardnertown not having enough players to field. In the first counted competition, Cornell fell 11-8 to Texas A&M and were led in scoring by
Jasmine Umrigar, who tallied four goals in the contest.
Cornell Polo senior,
Lea Jih-Vieira, is returning to action this weekend after a very successful ride with the national team. She is coming off a 12-11 comeback victory over the All-England Polo Club to win the SUPA International Cup.
Cornell faced the Central New York Polo Club as recent as last season. The Big Red won both match ups, the first 16-7, and the second 21-5.
