ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team won the inaugural Finger Lakes Women's Team Race on Saturday on Cayuga Lake, outlasting the four-team field for the program's ninth regatta title of the school year.

Sophia Fogarty finding the weekend speed, Cornell went 11-1 in match race action as part of the four round-robin schedule. The 11 wins was four more than runner-up Penn (7-5), with Hobart and William Smith (4-8) and Navy (2-10) rounding out the field.
Cornell's only loss of the weekend came in Round B to Hobart and William Smith, but the Big Red ran off six wins in six races to close out the event.
The Big Red will split up its team this weekend, competing for the Prosser Trophy for the MAISA Open Team Race Championship at Kings Point, while also competing at the Yale Women's and Emily Wick team races on Saturday and Sunday, April 8=9.
