ST. MARY'S, Md. -- The Cornell women's sailing team captured its second straight MAISA Women's Dinghy Championship and secured a bid to the national championships, steering clear of the 14-team field this past weekend for a 21-point win over runner-up and fellow national qualifier Georgetown. The A division featured Green (races 1-9) and Moran (races 10-14) as skipper with Gabbi DelBello (races 1-9) and Sophia Pearce (races 10-14) making up the crew. Their 41 points were 10 ahead of the Hoyas to claim the A division crown. in 14 races, the A division entry won five races three three runner-up finishes and posted 13 efforts in the top five on the weekend.

In B division, Cornell finished second to the Quakers with Devling and Amelia Neumann racing the entire weekend. With three race wins, three runner-up efforts and 11 top five finishes, the Big Red's consistent excellence was rewarded.

The Big Red finished lower than fifth in just one race on Saturday and won three A division races and two more in B division. It was a four-race circuit midway through Saturday that included consecutives win by A and B divisions in races four and five that built a lead that Cornell would never relinquish.
