ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's basketball program has added Victoria Lux and Brendon Gauthier to its coaching staff for the 2023-24 season it was announced today by Dayna Smith, the Rebecca Quinn Morgan '60 Head Coach of Women's Basketball. Both bring Ivy League experience and familiarity with the Big Red program to the sidelines.

Lux joins the Big Red after spending the past season as an assistant coach at Ivy rival Dartmouth. Working primarily with the post players, she had responsibilities in nearly every aspect of the program, from scouting and video to recruiting and practice planning and execution.

Her stint at Dartmouth followed a season as an assistant coach at MIT where she coached conference and regional Player of the Year Christina Antonakakis. Along with her usual coaching duties, she also ran MIT women's basketball's social media accounts. Lux was named to the 2022 WBCA Thirty Under 30 list for all of Division I, II and III and served on a panel in Minneapolis, Minn.

Following her 2019 graduation from Bentley, Lux served as a graduate assistant coach at Regis College. Along with coaching the post players, she was also in charge of team travel, scouting, strength and conditioning sessions and recruiting.

"We are very excited to have Victoria join our staff and program," Smith said. "Having Ivy League experience will help her connect with our student athletes and our prospective recruits. Victoria's success as a post player will benefit our young forward core and we can't wait for her to get started."

As a student-athlete at Bentley, she was 1,000-point scorer and a top five rebounder in program history. Selected team co-captain in her final season by Hall of Fame coach Barbara Stevens, she was part of a Final Four team in 2016 and was a two-time all-conference selection.

Lux graduated from Bentley in 2019 with a degree in Management with a concentration in leadership and a double minor in Sport Management and Sociology. She earned her Master's degree in Strategic Communications with a concentration on the sports industry in 2019.

Gauthier joins the coaching ranks after serving as a practice player for the Big Red during his undergraduate days. He also was a Diversity Outreach Intern in undergraduate admissions and was a radio host and producer for CornellRadio.com. He graduated with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2021.

Following graduation, Gauthier joined ICON as a human resources coordinator before moving to Nesco Resource as a professional recruiter.

"Brendon loves the game and was extremely dedicated as a practice player during his undergraduate years at Cornell," Smith said. "His energetic and enthusiastic personality and his passion for the game are things that we are really looking forward to having in our program. His familiarity with both our institution and our program will go a long way with recruits and current players alike."
