GARDEN CITY, N.Y. -- The Nassau County High School Athletic Hall of Fame has announced the 2023 inductee list, set to be honored at the induction ceremony of September 28. This year's list consists of 16 honorees, including Cornell lacrosse legend, Eamon McEneaney. He is the sixth Big Red inductee in the Hall of Fame's eight year history, following Robert Rule, Robert Henrickson, Bruce Arena, and coaches Richie Moran and David Pietramala.
McEneaney, who won two national championships with the Big Red under the coaching of 2018 inductee Richie Moran, still remains in the top five in points all-time at Cornell with 256. He still sits number two all-time in Big Red lacrosse history with 164 assists. McEneaney was twice honored by the USILA, first in 1975, he was awarded the Jack Turnbull Award as the Outstanding Attackman in Division I, and in 1977 he was awarded the Lt. Raymond Enners Memorial Award as the Outstanding Player in Division I. He was a member of the Cornell Hall of Fame class of 1982, and was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1992. McEneaney's number 10 is one of just two numbers retired within Cornell lacrosse.
The ceremony will be held at the Crest Hollow County Club. For more information on the full class and tickets, follow the link
