CAMBRIDGE, MA — Freshman Naomi Marlough led Cornell women's polo in a dominant 26-7 win over Harvard on Saturday to move the Big Red's record to 4-2 on the season.
Marlough had 15 goals on the night, junior Lara Chong had six, senior Karolyn Auer had three and fifth-year Isabelle Braden had two.
"Overall, Harvard is a scrappy team that certainly didn't make things easy on us, despite the disparate outcome," said Peter B. Orthwein `68 Head Coach of Polo Anthony Condo Jr.
Marlough scored three goals and Braden scored two in the first chucker. In the second, Marlough notched six goals. In Chucker three, Marlough added three goals and Chong notched two. Finally, in the fourth chucker Cornell went on a scoring rampage as Marlough notched three, Chong notched four and Auer scored three.
"At this time of the year, we are prioritizing visiting other arenas and playing other horses in order to improve our game-play away from the friendly confines of Oxley," said Condo.
Cornell will play again on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2:00 p.m. against the University of New Hampshire.
