PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Cornell women's track and field team opened up the outdoor campaign at the Penn Challenge on Saturday.
Avery Hastings (hammer throw) and
Charli Stewart (shot put) earned victories in their respective events, along with a 4x100 title.
Hastings had a great outing, as she recorded her personal-best (48.80 meters) in the hammer throw to seal the victory. Her throws counterpart Stewart would also earn a victory on the day due to her 13.82 shot-put toss.

Abby Nonnenberg (discus and hammer), achieved runner-up status in their respective events.
Seven Cornellians collected personal bests. Those athletes are listed below:
Hastings - hammer throw (28.80 meters)
Margaret Dalseth - 800m (2:23.84) and 1500m (4:44.40)
Brooke Hirsch - 1500m (4:53.98)
Maisie McManus - 3000m (9:59.39)
Jennalee Dunn - 3000m (10:30.25)
Stella Williams - Javelin (28.68 meters)
Elaina Styer - Javelin (19.47 meters)
