KINGSTON, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's golf team closed its 2023-24 regular season with a 10th-place finish at the Roar-EE Invitational on Saturday from Wiltwyck Golf Club. Cornell, who sat in a tie for 10th with Bryant University after the opening round with a 299, shaved four strokes off its team total over the final 18 to card a 594.

Freshman Tyler Debusschere led the pack of six Big Red golfers who hit the links on Saturday, amassing four birdies over the two rounds to earn a tie for 32nd with a 3-over-147. It is the highest Debusschere has finished in an invite since earning a tie for 12th at last fall's Autumn Invitational hosted by Columbia from the Lake Placid Golf Club. Weston Warden was next in line for Cornell, carding identical 74s to share 38th place at four-over par. It was also a rebound weekend for Warden, who finished 75th at last weekend's Princeton Invitational.

Viktor Stollinger finished a spot behind Warden in 46th with a 5-over-149 and had a team-high six birdies over the 36-hole tournament. Jackson Debusschere competed as Cornell's lone individual and finished 46th with a 149. Char Russekoff (78-78-156) and Tismark Boham (78-78-156) closed the Big Red competitors with 52nd and 66th place finishes.

Columbia's DJ Francey and Yale's Ben Carpenter took home a share of the medalist honors after carding a 7-under-137 in a tournament that saw only 16 out of 75 golfers finish under par. Columbia also took home the team championship (279-277-556), while Yale (285-277-562), St. Thomas Aquinas (289-283-572), Penn (283-289-572), and Holy Cross (289-287-576) closed out the top five.

Cornell's 2023-24 regular season comes to a close with five top 10 team finishes and a high finish of 5th during its fall invitational held last September at the Watchung Valley Golf Club.
