ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell women's tennis is back to the court this weekend in the final weekend of action. The Big Red is set to host a pair of opponents at the Reis Tennis Center with matches on Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21. On Saturday, Cornell hosts Brown for Senior Day, and #49 Yale for the final game of the season. Matches are set to begin at 1 p.m. on both days.
The Big Red is still chasing its first Ivy win, after finishing the nonconference season with a 7-8 record. Last weekend, Cornell dropped matches against #39 Harvard and Dartmouth.
In the all-time series against Brown, the Big Red trails, 12-7, but has won four of the last ten meetings, including a 4-2 victory in the 2021-22 season. Yale boasts a 12-5 advantage in the all-time series and has won the last four meetings, but Cornell has split the last 10 meetings, 5-5.
On Saturday, the Big Red will honor its lone senior,
Lauren Stein. Stein has served at the primary no.1 this season, competing regularly in the no. 1 doubles matches and no. 1 singles matches. Stein is 10-6 overall this season, including a 7-5 record in dual matches and a 3-1 tournament record. Her doubles record sits at 12-9 entering this weekend.
