ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell sailing, fresh off earning a bid to the ICSA women's team nationals at last weekend's MAISA Spring Women's Fleet race, is seeking a second big to the national stage when the team races for the Prosser Trophy this weekend. Winning the Trophy would earn the Big Red a spot at the ICSA Open Nationals later the season. The Prosser Trophy, a conference championship race for Cornell, is set to begin on Saturday, April 6, and continue through Sunday, April 7.

Sailing wrapped up a fifth-place finish at the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race and a first-place finish at the MAISA Spring Women's Fleet Race last weekend.

The Prosser Trophy, which will be hosted by Old Dominion, will host boats from Old Dominion, St. Mary's (Md.), Hobart and William Smith, Penn, Navy, Georgetown, Fordham, and the Big Red. The eight teams will compete across 10 flights in a single-round format as the teams each vie for the right to the conference championship.

Cornell is back to a dual-race weekend next weekend with the Truxton Umsted Open Fleet Race at Throggs Neck, N.Y., and the MAISA Women's Team Racing Championships in St. Mary's City, Md. Action will begin on Saturday, April 13, and continue through Sunday, April 14.
