Sailing Hits the Water to Brown and New London For Two Regattas

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell sailing is back in action this weekend with a pair of road trips, the first true road weekend for the Big Red since the season openers at Kings Point. From Saturday, September 28 through Sunday, September 29, Cornell will battle it out at the Women's ACC Semifinals, hosted by Brown, and the Danmark Trophy, hosted by Coast Guard. 

At the Women's ACC Semifinals, Cornell will be vying for a spot at the ACC Finals, hosted by Navy, next month. This weekend, the Big Red will go up against Boston College, Boston University, Bowdoin, Brown, Fordham, George Washington, Hobart and William Smith, Maine Maritime, MIT, NC State, Northeastern, Roger Williams, Tulane, Navy, South Florida, Vermont, and Wisconsin. The 18 teams will compete in two divisions, with 14 races slated for each.

The Danmark Trophy will follow a similar format to the ACC Semifinals, with 20 teams competing across two divisions of 14 races each. The Big Red will face off against Boston College, Brown, Charleston, Connecticut College, Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT, Roger Williams, St. Mary's, Stanford, Tufts, Tulane, Coast Guard, Navy, Miami, Penn, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, and Yale.

On the horizon, Cornell eyes the Open ACC Semifinals at St. Mary's City and a midseason scrimmage against William Smith, slated for Saturday, October 5 through Sunday, October 6.
