MAISA Spring Women's Fleet Race Championship On Tap For Women's Sailing

| By:
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team will sail for the MAISA Spring Women's Fleet Race Championship when it heads to Georgetown for the two-day event beginning on Saturday, March 28 at 10 a.m. Racing will take place out of the Washington Sailing Marina on the Potomac River.

Cornell, ranked No. 7 in the latest Sail1Design rankings, will attempt to earn the conference's automatic bid to the ICSA Women's Team Racing Nationals and claim a fifth straight title in the process, including the first under interim head coach Charlie Knape. The Big Red took second at last year's MAISA Spring Women's Fleet Race Championship, solidifying its case for an at-large bid to the national championships after leading into the final three races of the weekend before being passed by Georgetown. Cornell will be among 15 programs looking to claim the conference crown, including nationally-ranked squads Georgetown (No. 6), Old Dominion (No. 13) and Penn (No. 14).
