Big Day at the Southern Tier Invite for the Men's Track and Field Team

ITHACA N.Y. – Cornell men's track and field dominated at Southern Tier Invite on Saturday in Barton Hall. The Big Red swept the podium in multiple events with two new entries into Cornell history books.

Domenic Barresi and Panashe Nhenga set personal-best and landed on top of the leaderboard in the 60m both with a time of 6.77 seconds. Barresi beat his previous record by .01 second to remain the fifth best 60m time. Nhenga ran the same time and set the freshman record that was previously held by Chris Bain (6.79) and set in 2010.

The Big Red swept the podium in the mile, 60m hurdles, 400m and shot put.

Matthew O'Brien, Tyler Canaday (4:13.16) and Nick Norris (4:16.78) swept the podium in the mile. O'Brien took first with a personal-best time of 4:12.87.

Ryder King (8.13), Charles Wall-Davis (8.25) and Teddy Rauchway (8.44) took the top three spots in the 60m hurdles.

Michael Mazero (49.33), Fabien De Silva (49.34) and Seamus Finn (49.61) were on the top for the 400m.

In the field events, Noah Harman (16.82m), Peter Northrup (16.58m) and Nicholas Frattina (14.81m)

The 4x400 relay team that consisted of Seamus Finn, Neil Chowdhury, Jason Meza and Jack Daly took first with a time of 3:21.40.

Other top finishes included Elijah Schechter running a 1:21.83 in the 600m, Brady Shute in the 800m with a time of 1:53.01, Barresi again in the 200m with a time of 21.70, Northrup in the weight throw with a mark of 17.48m, in the pole vault Eli Gault-Crabb with a mark of 4.90m and Desmond Whitley with a personal-best jump of 14.74 in the triple jump.
