ITHACA, N.Y. — Dan Pepicelli, the Ted Thoren Head Coach of Cornell Baseball, announced Wednesday afternoon that 11 student-athletes have joined the Cornell baseball team, in addition to the release of the Big Red's 37-game schedule for the upcoming 2025 season.

The 11 incoming players compose of a catcher, an infielder, an outfielder, one utility player, and seven pitchers (four right-handers and three southpaws).

• Earned four varsity letters in baseball at Jupiter HS, where program won four district titles.

Tyler Beaulieu • OF • 6-1 • 175 lbs. • Berwyn, Pa. • Episcopal Academy
• Earned four varsity letters at Episcopal Academy in Newton Square, Pa.
• Named to All-Inter AC, All-Main-Line, and All-Delaware County teams twice.
• Tabbed captain of team during senior season
• Received four letters in basketball, where he was an All-Delaware County selection and served as captain during senior year
• Honored with National Merit Finalists Award.
• Mother, Linda, played softball at Army West Point (1986-89).

• Earned four varsity letters in baseball at Marlborough HS, where he was a three-year captain and named Team MVP on three occasions.
• Named to Worcester Telegram & Gazette All-Star team in 2024.
• Three-time honoree to Mid-Wach All-Star teams, earning second-team honors in 2022, first-team honors in 2023 and 2024, and named league MVP in 2024.
• Received Preseason All-American honorable mention honors from Perfect Game in 2023 (underclassmen) and 2024.
• Also played basketball for four years, earning three varsity letters, where he was a three-year captain and earned 2023-24 Mid-Wach Academic Award.

John Hegarty • RHP • 6-5 • 200 lbs. • Needham, Mass. • St. Mark's School
• Earned four varsity letters in baseball at St. Mark's School.
• Named Team MVP and was First Team All-Independent School League (ISL) and First Team All-New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) selection.
• Received ISL All-Star honors in 2023 and was an All-ISL honorable mention as a sophomore in 2022.
• Also earned five varsity letters (three in basketball and two in football).
• Named to Honor Roll all four years at St. Mark's.
• Played club baseball for New England Ruffnecks from 2019-23.

• Earned three varsity letters at Boston College HS, where he was winning pitcher in program's clinching of 2024 Massachusetts State Baseball Championship.

• Named to All-Scholastic Team by Boston Globe in 2024 and two-time honoree (2023 and 2024) by Patriot Ledger.

2025 SCHEDULE OUTLOOK
Cornell will begin its 157th year of baseball on Friday, Feb. 21, when it travels to Durham, N.C., when to begin a three-game series against No. 11-ranked Duke at Jack Coombs Field. The Big Red will be facing Duke for the first time since beginning the COVID-shortened 2020 season with a trio of games against the Blue Devils. It will also mark the third time in program history that Cornell is opening its season against Duke, also doing so in 1948 when it dropped an 18-15 decision.

Right after a three-game set with UMBC on March 1-2, the Big Red will return to the Carolinas where it will participate in the First Pitch Invitational in Greenville, S.C. The Big Red will begin the tournament with a 10 a.m. first pitch against Michigan State on Friday, March 7, before facing UAB the following day at noon. Cornell will conclude its South Carolina trip with a single game against Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C., on March 9, at 1 p.m. The contests with UAB and Winthrop will be the first time Cornell will face either team in program history.

Wrapping up Cornell's string of 12 non-conference games to open the season will be a three-game series against Towson on March 15-16. Ivy League play will begin the following weekend on March 22 when Cornell travels to Yale for a three-game series, concluding the Big Red's season-opening 15-game road trip.

The Big Red will host its home opener on Tuesday, March 25, with a 3 p.m. first pitch against Central New York rival Binghamton. Cornell's first home conference series will come that weekend when it hosts Brown (March 29-30).

Following a four-game road trip to Columbia in New York City (April 5-6) and Bucknell (April 8), Cornell will host Penn (April 12-13) before embarking on an eight-game road swing bookended by trips to Binghamton (April 15 and April 29). The Big Red will travel to Ancient Eight rivals Harvard (April 19-20) on Easter Weekend and Dartmouth (April 26-27) during the road trip.

Cornell will return to Booth Field to conclude the 2025 regular season with a three-game series against Princeton (May 3-4).
