Big Red Women's Swim and Dive Slot Sixth After Ivies Day One

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Cornell women's swimming and diving team opened the 2025 Ivy League Championships with a showing in the relay events on Wednesday evening at Denunzio Pool. Ella Martinez was the lone Cornellian individual swimmer to swim, as she swam in the 100 yard butterfly (56.82 seconds).

Cornell made a push in the 800-yard freestyle relay, finishing fifth with a time of 7:20.79. The quartet of Erin Dehollander, Kate Li, Rosalee Springer, and Jungmin Yoon battled against tough competition and delivered a well-executed race to add to the team's point total. The Big Red placed eighth in the 200-yard medley relay, with the team of Mingna Xu, Audrey Holden, Tori Zhang, and Kate Li clocking in at 1:41.32.

Morgan Ogata finished in 26th-place result, earning 267.55 points in the 1-meter dive. Julia Wilkinson was the highest Big Red finisher in the 3-meter dive, claiming 304.70 points for 13th-place.

After the first night of action, Cornell sits in sixth place with 94 points, closely trailing Dartmouth and Penn. With more events ahead, the Big Red looks to build on this momentum and continue making an impact throughout the Ivy League Championships.

Back To The Water
The Big Red will return to the water tomorrow for day two of the Ivy League Championships. The first session is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m., with the second session scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Denunzio Pool. Both sessions will be broadcast on ESPN+.
