Gymnastics Wins the Empire State Collegiate Championship With Its Highest Score of the Season

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell gymnastics placed first at the Empire State Collegiate Championship ahead of five other New York state teams with a team score of 194.200, the highest of the season.

Sydney Beers took the gold in the all-around score of 38.925 with teammate Avery Byun coming in second with a total score of 38.850.  

VAULT

Dahlia Jhaveri lead the Big Red on the first apparatus with a score of 9.725 to place fourth. Addy Rothstein tied for fifth with her season-high score of 9.700.

BARS

Morgen Shambo scored her season-high 9.750 to place second on the bars. Natalia Tehrani also grabbed a season-high 9.700 to land in fourth place.

BEAM

Byun and Beers tied for fifth on the beam with 9.800. The team scored 48.600, the highest of the season.

FLOOR

Byun was second on the floor with a 9.875 with her season-best. Beers tied for third with a 9.850. The team continues to shine on the floor with a team score of 49.050 the highest total for the season.

UP NEXT

Cornell travels to George Washington next Sunday Feb.16 at 1 p.m. for a dual.
