ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell baseball junior right-handed pitcher Carson Mayfield has been named the Ivy League's Pitcher of the Week for the second time in three weeks, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Mayfield is the first Cornell pitcher to receive multiple Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors since Tim Willittes earned at least a share of the weekly award in consecutive weeks during his junior campaign in 2016.

Coming off an impressive outing against Michigan State in the opening game of the 2025 First Pitch Invitational at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C., Mayfield allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits across six innings while striking out three batters and issuing no walks. After allowing a run on two hits in the first inning, Mayfield set down 16 of the last 18 batters he faced, with the only players to reach safely coming on a leadoff inside-the-park home run in the fourth inning and a one-out single in the fifth.

Through his first three outings of the season, Mayfield leads the team in numerous pitching categories, including innings pitched (16.0), ERA (2.25), strikeouts (10), WHIP (0.88), and batting average against (.161).

This weekend, Mayfield and Cornell will return to action when it travels to Towson, Md., for a three-game series against Towson (4-11). The series begins on Saturday with a doubleheader slated to start at 11 a.m. and the series finale taking place at 1 p.m. Sunday. Only Sunday's game will be broadcast on FloBaseball.tv.
