Men's Track and Field Team Places Third at 2025 Indoor Ivy Heptagonal Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell men's track and field scored a total of 82 team points to place third overall alongside Damian Hackett winning the mile race at the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Barton Hall on Sunday.

Princeton won the Ivy League team title with 189.5 points followed by Penn (104.5), Cornell, Dartmouth (79), Harvard (62), Yale (38) and Brown (32).

Damian Hackett won the mile race in a time of 3:57.74 knocking 14 seconds off his preliminary time. His time broke the meet record and facility record for Barton Hall.

Domenic Barresi took home two medals today, his first was in the 60m in a time of 6.79 and then placed fifth in the 200m with a time of 21.84. Barresi totaled 10 team points for Cornell.

Ryder King and Michael Mazero each placed fifth in their events. King ran the 60m hurdles in 7.91 while Mazero went 400m in 48.10 seconds.

Finn Boyle placed sixth in the 800m in a time of 1:52.82.

In the field events, Desmond Whitley placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 15.01, Peter Northrup earned two points in the shot put by placing fifth with a throw of 17.76 and Michael Prieto jumped 2.06m in the high jump to place fifth as well. The field events earned eight points toward team standings.

Each of the men's relay teams placed in the top three. The distance medley team consisting of Peyton Shute, Jack Daly, Elijah Schechter and Pierre Attiogbe placed second.

The 4x800 consisting of Ryan Johnson, Tyler Tisinger, Brady Shute and Damian Hackett and the 4x400 of Fabien De Silva, Seamus Finn, Ryder King and Michael Mazero each placed third in the relays.

Kegan Mancabelli competed in the heptathlon over the past two days to place fourth overall with a total of 4893. His best event of the seven was the pole vault where he placed first at a height of 4.96m.

The NCAA Indoor Championships are scheduled for March 14-15 in Virginia Beach. Vir. Then the outdoor season starts for Cornell at the USF Alumni Invitational on March 21-22.
