ITHACA, N.Y. - Sophomore goaltender for the Cornell women's ice hockey team,
Annelies Bergmann, was named a Second Team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association. She becomes the 11th Cornell All-American in program history, and second Big Red goaltender. This also marks the second-consecutive season that a Cornellian was named an All-American.
Bergmann displayed a record-breaking season in goal for the Big Red, notching 794 saves on the year with a .943 save percentage. The sophomore net-minder only allowed 1.35 goals per game, and led the nation in shutouts with 10 on the year. Her consistency in net was a critical element to Cornell's run to the Frozen Four. Her strong season between the pipes earned her ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year honors, to pair with being named a finalist for National Goaltender of The Year.
