Men's Lax To Honor Senior Class On Verge of History When Dartmouth Visits Saturday

| By:
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's lacrosse team will honor its 16-member senior class and go for history when it closes out the regular season by hosting Dartmouth at Schoellkopf Field on Saturday, April 26 at 12 p.m. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+.

• Senior All-American and Tewaaraton Trophy candidate CJ Kirst enters the game on the cusp of standing alone as Division I men's lacrosse's all-time leading goal scorer — he is currently tied atop the list with Virginia's Payton Cormier (2020-24) with 224.
• The Big Red will also be attempting to clinch its 20th outright Ivy title after gaining at least a share of its 33rd Ancient Eight crown with last weekend's 20-12 victory at No. 10 Harvard.
• Following the contest, Cornell will honor its seniors — Michael Bozzi, Danny Caddigan, Andrew Dalton, Christopher Davis, Rory Graham, Alex Holmes, Hugh Kelleher, CJ Kirst, Wyatt Knust, Michael Long, Duke Reeder, Ryan Sheehan, Jayson Singer, Kyle Smith, Antonio Topouzis and Walker Wallace.
• Cornell, ranked No. 1 in the latest national polls for the fifth consecutive week, brings a seven-game win streak into Senior Day.
• The Big Red ranks No. 1 nationally in goals (16.3), assists (10.8), and points (27.1) per game, as well as in shooting percentage (.371) while scoring at least a dozen goals in every contest this season.
• The nation's active leading scorer at 310 points, the six-time Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week paces all of college lacrosse with his 80 points (59 goals, 21 assists) this season.
• Kirst's running mate Michael Long is just the sixth player at Cornell to surpass 200 points, as well as the fourth Big Red player to surpass both 100 career goals (105) and 100 career assists (105). He enters the week with 210 points, sixth all-time at Cornell.
• Junior Jack Cascadden has been outstanding at the faceoff X, winning 64 percent of his restarts in the past seven contests (115-of-180).
• The defense has surrendered just 9.8 goals over its past five games and is allowing opponents to shoot just 26 percent overall this season.
• The Big Red has been jumping out on opponents all season, outscoring opponents 110-60 in the first half (an average score of 9-5).
• Head coach Connor Buczek's Big Red team returns eight starters and 22 letter winners from last season's 9-5 squad that won the Ivy League regular season title — its third straight and 32nd overall in program history.
