Elkinton Used Personal Best For New School Record on Senior Day

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell women's track and field celebrated senior day with the rainy Big Red Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

Noelle Elkinton set a new outdoor school record and personal best in the shot put with a mark of 15.48m, taking first place, and doubling up with a win in the discus at 45.18m. Claire Springer followed up with a personal-best 13.93m in shot put to secure second place, while Torie Jamieson claimed second in discus at 38.49m.

In the jumps, Margaux Rawson cleared 1.73m in the high jump, not only earning a personal best but moving to seventh all-time in school history. In the horizontal jumps, Skyy Johnson soared to first place in the long jump with a mark of 5.73m, while Elizabeth Graham secured second in long jump (5.65m) and second in the triple jump (11.22m). Anika Sukumar took first in the triple jump with a strong 11.67m performance.

Hannah Kerston claimed first place in 17:03.51in the 5000m, a personal best. The 800m featured 1-2 finish as Fiona Lee clocked 2:14.03 for the win, just edging out teammate Bronwyn Parks, who finished second in 2:14.19.

Glenn Parker had a day, winning both the 100m (12.04), a personal best, and 200m (25.37). Brianna Beckman ran 12.16 for a strong second-place finish in the 100m. In the 400m, Rachel Bethke crossed the line first in 57.13, a new personal best, followed closely by Justine Hounsell in 57.52 for second.

The 4x100m relay team of Jada Smith, Takiya Henson, Natasha Redmond, and Imani Reid flew to victory with a time of 45.89.
