Guilday, Delianedis, Chan Round Out Big Red PWHL Draft Declarees

| By:
ITHACA, N.Y. - Cornell women's ice hockey skaters Rory Guilday, Lily Delianedis, and Katie Chan announced their declaration for the 2025 PWHL Draft. The second annual PWHL Draft is slated to take place on Tuesday, June 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Hard Rock Live in Ottawa, Ontario.

Rory Guilday - Defender
A three-time world medalist with Team USA in the IIHF World Championships, Guilday produced one of the most decorated careers in Cornell women's ice hockey history. During her career she earned All-Ivy League honors on three occasions, with two being first team recognitions and one as a second teamer, as well as Third Team All-ECAC Hockey distinctions. She made an immediate impact as a freshman with selections to both the ECAC Hockey and USCHO All-Rookie teams.

Guilday served as a two-year captain while anchoring a defensive unit that ranked among the nation's best in back-to-back seasons. She contributed offensively as well, recording 19 goals and 33 assists over her career and played a pivotal role in helping the Big Red to consecutive Ivy League titles and NCAA Tournament appearances during her junior and senior seasons. In her final season, she helped deliver Cornell's first ECAC Hockey Championship since 2015 and its first Frozen Four berth since 2019.

Lily Delianedis - Forward
"Being a PWHL prospect is both exciting and surreal. Growing up, there was no professional women's league, so the dream was to become the first female NHL player. As a child, that goal felt possible but as I got older, it gradually shifted to simply playing college hockey. Now, with the rise of the PWHL, it's incredible to potentally have the opportunity to play pro hockey.", Delianedis mentioned.

A four-year standout and one of the most consistent scorers of Cornell's NCAA era, Delianedis totaled 110 career points on 53 goals and 57 assists, registering over 25 points in each of her seasons with the Big Red. She hit the ground running during her time at Cornell, claiming the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year award and ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team distinctions in year one.

"Playing Cornell hockey helped me grow not just as a player, but also as a teammate and a person. The coaching staff, my teammates, and the program's relentless work ethic pushed me every day to become the best version of myself. These experiences taught me how to handle adversity, sharpened my competitive edge, and deepened my love for the game.", she added.

Delianedis, a second team All-Ivy member as a junior, helped lead Cornell to back-to-back Ivy League titles and consecutive ECAC Hockey and NCAA tournament appearances during her final two campaigns on East Hill. She surpassed the 100-point milestone in an Ivy League championship-clinching road win at Harvard during her senior season, and continued on to cap her Big Red tenure by centering Cornell to its first ECAC Hockey Championship since 2015 and a return to the Frozen Four for the first time since 2019.

Katie Chan - Forward
"I think the PWHL is a phenomenal organization that not only provides opportunities for female hockey players to play in a professional league after college, but also advances female athletics as a whole. The accomplishments the league has achieved in only two years of its existence have been incredible to witness, showcasing the skill, speed, strength and physicality of female hockey and the passionate fan base within the general public. Playing in the PWHL would be an incredible honor and a dream come true, and I would love more than anything to continue to build upon the foundation that has already been laid in promoting this sport and furthering the legacy the PWHL has established for female athletics."

Chan, a three-time ECAC Hockey Champion, has always been apart of a winning formula during her collegiate career. The forward from British Columbia tallied 76 points on 34 goals and 42 assists during her time with the Cornell Big Red and the Colgate Raiders. As a junior, prior to injury Chan was a catalyst on the Big Red's top-line which featured 2024 Patty Kazmaier Award winner Izzy Daniel and co-declaree for the 2025 PWHL Draft Lily Delianedis.

"The highlights of my college career were the people I met and the friendships I made, and I will forever be grateful for the privilege I had to train and play and learn from some of the best coaches, trainers and female hockey players in North America. I also appreciate the experience I had of playing in the most competitive league in the NCAA; playing in the ECAC pushed me in ways I could never have imagined, but certainly helped me to develop my mental game and overall resiliency because of the high level of competition I played against every single weekend. Facing such tough opponents week in and week out helped to elevate my game and develop my relentless style of play which is one of the biggest assets I bring as a hockey player. I am beyond thankful for all the people, places, and experiences that encompassed my college career and will treasure the memories of this special time in my life forever."
