ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell senior
Cami Whitaker has been named GEC Specialist of the Week, the conference office announced via social media at noon on Wednesday.
Whitaker is the second member of the Big Red to earn weekly honors this season as
Mikayla Burton won the same award last week.
Whitaker put together a strong showing at the Penn Quad Meet last Friday, posting a 9.800 on vault, finishing fourth overall, and a 9.750 on floor, tying for ninth overall.
On the season, the senior has twice scored 9.800 or better on vault, posting a season-high 9.825 in the season opener, and her 9.800 last week. In the last three meets, Whitaker has posted a 9.750 or better on floor.
The Big Red are back in competition on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Empire State Collegiate Championships hosted by Cortland. The meet is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
