Gymnastics Head to The Palestra for Four-Team Penn Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell gymnastics travels to Philadelphia, Pa., for the Penn Invitational on Friday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. inside the famed Palestra.
 
THE MEET
The meet will feature four teams, including Cornell, George Washington, William & Mary, and the host Quakers.
 
CORNELL UPDATE
Cornell posted a season-high 48.875 on floor exercise at the West Virginia Quad Meet on Friday, led by Cami Whitaker's 9.825 — a new team-best score on the event. Josie Moylan added a 9.800 on floor, while Addy Rothstein contributed a 9.775. The Big Red scored 193.275 to finish fourth in the quad meet behind West Virginia (195.875), Kent State (195.100) and Pittsburgh (194.775).
 
Mikayla Burton turned in a standout performance on balance beam, earning Specialist of the Week honors from the conference, posting a 9.900 to win the event outright and earning the team's best beam score of the season. Grace McLean added a 9.725 on beam and contributed across multiple events, scoring 9.725 on floor and 9.500 on vault. Morgen Shambo continued to lead on bars with a 9.700, while Ava Schenck-Davis added a 9.675 on the apparatus. Cornell will look to build on its depth across all four events as the Big Red continue searching for their first victory of the season.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Cornell finished fourth at the West Virginia quad meet with a score of 193.275. The Big Red's best event was floor, posting a season-best 48.875.
 
UP NEXT
Cornell will travel to Cortland for the Empire State Collegiate Championships on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m.
