HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Cornell men's golf team sits in 16th place after 36 holes of stroke play at the Wexford Intercollegiate, posting a two-round total of 607 (+31) at Wexford Golf Club's Palmer Black course.
The Big Red shot a 307 (+19) in the opening round before improving by seven strokes in the second round, carding a 300 (+12) on the par-72, 6,884-yard layout.
Shep Davis leads Cornell individually, sitting in a tie for 25th place after rounds of 73-75 for a 148 (+4) total.
Tyler Debusschere is one stroke back, tied for 41st at 150 (+6) following a consistent 75-75 effort across both rounds.
Adithya Venkataraghavan sits tied for 67th at 155 (+11) after an 80-75 showing, while
TJ Betlow is tied for 71st at 156 (+12) following rounds of 81-75.
Weston Warden rounds out the Big Red's lineup, tied for 74th at 157 (+13) after posting a 79 in round one and a 78 in round two.
Charleston leads the team standings at 567 (-9), with Mercer second at 580 (+4) and South Carolina Aiken third at 581 (+5). Miles Eubanks of Charleston paces the individual field at 135 (-9).
Cornell will return to action Tuesday for the final round of the Wexford Intercollegiate.
