MILAN, ITALY - Three Cornellians are set to compete in the 2026 Olympic Women's Ice Hockey final between the United States and Canada.
Rory Guilday '24 will represent the United States. Brianne Jenner '15 and Kristin O' Neill '20 will skate for Canada. The gold medal game is scheduled for Thursday, February 19th at 1:10 p.m. ET at Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena.
The United States has had a strong run at the 2026 Olympics so far, holding a 6-0 undefeated record. Former Cornell defensewoman Guilday has been apart of the American blue line that has helped the team outscore opponents 31-1. The Canadians have proven dominance in it's six contests, owning a 5-1 record in Milan. Former Big Red forwards Jenner (1-2-3)Â and O' Neill (2-2-4) have played a role in Canada's success.Â
In the preliminary meeting between the U.S. and Canada, the Americans ran away with a 5-0 shutout victory over the Canadians. When the countries meet in the Olympic final, it will mark the fifth consecutive Olympic medal for a former Cornell women's ice hockey player. Guilday and O' Neill will claim their first Olympic medal, while Jenner will collect the fourth of her career.
