ITHACA, N.Y. - Cornell gymnastics senior
Cami Whitaker has been named GEC Specialist of the Week, the conference office announced via social media Wednesday afternoon.
It is the senior's second Specialist of the Week honor this season as she last won the award on Feb. 11.
This past weekend, Whitaker led Cornell to a third place finish at the Ivy Classic hosted by Yale in New Haven, Conn. The Addison, Ill., native tied for first on vault with a 9.825, sharing the title with Penn's Jordan Barrow. Whitaker also tied for third on floor with a 9.850.
Cornell gymnastics returns to Newman Arena on Sunday, March 1 when it hosts Southern Connecticut State University for Senior Day. Whitaker is one of six seniors Cornell will honor. The dual is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
