University Park, Pa. – Cornell men's indoor track & field squad delivered strong performances across track and field events Saturday at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge, highlighted by a victory in the 60-meter hurdles from senior
Ryder King and several other top-three finishes.
King opened the day with a win in the 60-meter hurdles, stopping the clock at 7.95 to take first in a competitive field.
In the horizontal jumps, Desmond Whitley contributed a second place finish in the triple jump, recording a mark of 15.05 meters.
In the pole vault, Kegan Mancabelli placed third clearing 5.10 meters.
Joe Seib added another podium performance, taking third in the shot put with a best throw of 17.86 meters.
The Big Red also saw several other competitive showings that contributed to scoring throughout the meet. Stepan Matura finished fourth in the long jump clearing 6.94 meters, while the Cornell 400-meter corps posted solid section times in a fast field.
Freshman Ogden Lucsik recorded a 4.90 meter vault, and Peter Northrup was in action in the weight throw with a mark of 19.48 meters, placing both in fourth.
Cornell's balanced effort in Pennsylvania underscored the team's depth as the indoor campaign continues.

The Big Red will return to action next weekend in two places: at the Valentine Invite in Boston, MA from Friday, February 13 to Saturday, February 14 and at home for the Robert Kane Invitational on Saturday, February 14.
