ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team will compete for the Owen Trophy, hosted by Boston University, this coming weekend while hosting the Prosser Team Race Championship on Friday and Saturday, April 4-5 on Cayuga Lake. The top 10 teams will be competing in MAISA in open sailing will race out of the Merrill Family Sailing Center.

The Big Red claimed the 2026 MAISA Spring Women's Fleet Race Championship this past weekend at Georgetown. Cornell raced out to an early lead and held off the Hoyas for its fifth consecutive spring with a MAISA title in either women's fleet or team racing. 

Cornell will be competing for the Owen Trophy for the first time since 2023 when it grabbed eighth in the event at Kings Point that year. Though the Big Red will not be competing at the Prosser, the winner of the eight-team round-robin event will claim the conference's automatic bid to the Team Race Nationals.
