PRINCETON, N.J. — Princeton claimed the Carnegie Cup for the third consecutive year Saturday morning on Lake Carnegie, winning all four races against the Cornell men's heavyweight rowing team and Yale under variable cross-headwind conditions that intensified over the final 500 meters.
Racing opened with the 4V8+, where Princeton won ahead of Yale and Princeton's 5V8+. Cornell finished fourth, less than two seconds behind the Tigers' 5V8+ entry.
The 3V8+ followed, with Princeton claiming victory. Cornell finished third, within six and a half seconds of Yale for second. The 2V8+ produced a similar result, Princeton again taking the win with Cornell third, this time within eight seconds of Yale.
Princeton secured the Carnegie Cup with a 1V8+ victory. Yale crossed the finish line second and Cornell third — finishing within six seconds of the Bulldogs despite the building headwind in the closing 500 meters. Princeton won the 1V8+ by more than 10 seconds over Cornell.

A LOOK UPSTREAM
Cornell closes out the regular season on Cayuga Inlet with a pair of home dates. The Big Red hosts Oregon State on Friday, May 1, before welcoming Penn for the Madeira Cup and Holy Cross for a separate race on Saturday, May 2. Saturday's races will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Penn enters the Madeira Cup having won each of the last two runnings, halting a three-race Cornell winning streak that spanned 2019, 2022 and 2023. The Quakers will look to win a third consecutive Madeira Cup for the first time since claiming seven straight titles between 1995 and 2001.
