Men's Lacrosse to Host No. 7 Johns Hopkins in NCAA Tournament Second Round

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell men's lacrosse will host No. 7 Johns Hopkins, the Big Ten runner-up, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Schoellkopf Field on Saturday, May 9 at 5 p.m., the program's 32nd NCAA Tournament appearance, as announced on Sunday night's NCAA Selection Show on ESPNU.

The Big Red enter the matchup at 11-4 overall, while the Blue Jays check in at 9-5.

The Big Red and the Blue Jays have met 23 times, last meeting in the 1987 National Championship game, with Johns Hopkins holding a 16-6-1 lead in the all-time series. In the 23 meetings between 1894 and 1987, Johns Hopkins took nine of 12 meetings in Ithaca and won the final six meetings between 1978 and 1987. Johns Hopkins is coached by former Cornell head coach Peter Milliman.
