Women's Rowing Competes at 51st Annual Women's Sprints Regatta

WORCESTER, Mass. — Cornell women's rowing competed at the 51st annual Women's Sprints Regatta on Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond, finishing ninth in the Willing Trophy standings with 90 points, finishing one point ahead of Boston College. Brown claimed the trophy with 173 points, followed by Dartmouth with 162 and Rutgers with 160.

MORNING HEAT RECAP
Cornell's 3V8+ was the strongest heat performance of the morning, with the Big Red finishing third in a seven-boat field to advance to the Grand Final. The 1V8+ also turned in a strong result, finishing third behind Rutgers and Harvard to advance to the Petite Final. The 2V8+ followed, finishing third behind Rutgers and Dartmouth to advance to the Petite Final. In the 2V4+, Cornell finished fourth, advancing to the Petite Final. The 1V4+ rounded out the morning with a fourth-place finish, also advancing to the Petite Final.

AFTERNOON FINALS RECAP
Cornell opened the afternoon in the 3V4+ Grand Final, finishing third overall behind two Rutgers entries with Brown scratching from the race. The 3V8+ Grand Final followed, with the Big Red finishing sixth overall. In the 2V4+ Petite Final, Cornell placed second to finish eighth overall. The 2V8+ Petite Final saw the Big Red finish third for ninth overall. The 1V4+ Petite Final resulted in a fourth-place finish for 10th overall. Cornell closed the day in the 1V8+ Petite Final, finishing fifth for 11th overall.

Cornell advances to the 2026 Ivy League Women's Rowing Championships at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken Township, N.J. Heats are scheduled for Saturday, May 16, beginning at 4 p.m., with finals Sunday, May 17, beginning at 8 a.m. An awards ceremony is scheduled for 10:50 a.m. following the conclusion of racing.
